I was born and bred in Knutsford, Cheshire and I knew from an early age that art was a passion I wished to pursue. I migrated down to London at the tender age of 18 and studied fashion design at Saint Martins College. I later enrolled at the City and Guilds Art School and fulfilled my desire to complete a degree in Fine Art.
In 2005 I decided to move to Somerset to live the quiet life on a farm. Since then I have dedicated my time to improving a 17th century farmhouse and renovating its outbuildings. I have been particularly engaged with the interior design aspects of this project and have spent many hours embellishing the farmhouse walls with hand painted murals. Having recently completed the first phase of the farm`s transformation with the conversion of its old dairy parlour, I now offer cottage lettings and riding holidays in these beautiful rural surroundings. With its magnificent stone façades and sumptuous internal decor the farm makes for a unique and inspirational setting. In light of such, the farm and grounds have recently been made available for photo and film shoots. (Details: lovelynchfarm.co.uk)
Lovelynch farm is an enchanting place which leaves a lasting impression on all who experience the magic of being here. I am constantly mesmerised by its beauty and I find great creative stimulation in being audience to the fascinating lives of the forty
eight animals who live upon the land here. It is these souls who have joyfully inspired me in my current body of work and I feel contentment as I unravel their fun and unique characteristics and attempt to put them onto canvas. My coming exhibition at the Troubadour in London is the first since my move to the countryside and I look forward to being able to present my work once more. The peaceful tranquillity of rural life and the great diversity of characters depicted from the farm will no doubt form an exciting juxtaposition against the backdrop of our bustling capital city.
